Get help with mobility aids and household items
If you are finding things difficult right now, we are here to listen and see how we can help. We respond as quickly as we can, especially where mobility aids or essential household items are needed.

As a local charity, we know that anyone can face hardship. Asking for help is okay, and you do not need to feel embarrassed. Our volunteers will treat you with kindness, respect and confidentiality.

You can use this page to:

  • Request mobility aids, such as wheelchairs or walkers
  • Ask for essential household items or white goods
  • Tell us about another difficulty you are facing

If you are not sure whether we can help, please still get in touch and we will do our best to advise you.

Household items and white goods

Where we have suitable donated stock or funding, we may be able to help with essential items for your home.

This can sometimes include:

  • Beds, sofas, tables and chairs
  • Basic kitchen items
  • White goods such as fridges, freezers or washing machines

We focus on essential items that support your day-to-day living and safety.

General hardship and organisations

If you are facing another kind of hardship, or you are a local organisation supporting people in need, we may still be able to help.

We can:

  • Talk through your situation and see what is possible
  • Work with partner organisations where appropriate
  • Sometimes provide practical items to community groups

Support is offered on a case-by-case basis, depending on need and what we have available.

Mobility aids

We may be able to loan or provide mobility aids to help you stay safe and independent at home or when out and about.

Examples include:

  • Wheelchairs and walking frames
  • Sticks, crutches and rollators
  • Small aids to help with daily living

Support is usually for people living in Rushden and nearby areas who could not otherwise afford these items or get them quickly enough.

We aim to keep things as simple and stress-free as possible.

  1. Get in touch: Use the form on this page or contact us by phone, email or in person.
  2. Brief conversation: A volunteer will talk with you about your situation so we understand what you need and how urgent it is.
  3. We look at options: We check what items we have in stock, what we can source quickly, and whether our partners can help.
  4. We agree a plan: Together we decide the best next step, such as collecting from our shop, arranging delivery where possible, or signposting you to another service.

Any information you share is handled sensitively and kept as private as we reasonably can. For more detail on how we use your information, please read our Privacy Policy.
