Rushden and District Community Charity exists to provide practical, timely support when local people need it most. With the help of our volunteers, donors and partners, we are able to:
  • Provide mobility aids such as wheelchairs and walkers so people can stay independent.
  • Support households in hardship with essential items and white goods.
  • Offer practical help and signposting when people are facing crisis.
  • Work alongside local community groups, schools, faith organisations and services to reach those most in need.
We are proud to be fully volunteer-run, with 100% of profits from our charity shop going straight back into community support.

Your support helps us provide mobility aids, essential household items and general hardship support to people in and around Rushden. Because we are fully volunteer-run, every pound and every item goes directly into helping local people.

You can give a financial donation online or by bank transfer, or by donating good-quality items for our charity shop. If you are a business or community group, we would also love to talk about partnership opportunities.

Our friendly volunteer-run charity shop is the heart of Rushden and District Community Charity. Here you can find affordable clothing, household items, books, toys and more. Every purchase helps us fund mobility aids, household items and other support for people in hardship.

If you have items in good, clean condition that you no longer need, please consider donating them. Your donations help stock the shop and turn pre-loved goods into vital community support.

Our charity is powered by local volunteers. Whether you can help in the shop, support with collections and deliveries, or bring skills such as administration or fundraising, we would love to hear from you.

You do not need previous experience – just a friendly attitude and a willingness to help others. Volunteering is flexible, and we will work with you to find a role and time that suits you.

Local delivery or collection of donated items is arranged on a case-by-case basis and depends on volunteer availability. We do our best to ensure items are safe and in good condition, but all items are offered subject to availability. Returns or exchanges for purchased items can be discussed with our team at the charity shop within a reasonable time after purchase; refunds are offered at our discretion and in line with charity retail best practice.
